For decades, brass and aluminum forgings have been used in a variety
of industries. From plumbing to aerospace, from hardware to automotive
industry
and beyond, forgings offer improved performance at a competitive
cost. Improved grain structure and no porosity make forged components
superior to those of cast products. The low tooling cost associated
with forging often makes it a viable option to casting due to casting’s
much higher tooling costs.
Forging is a near-net-shape process, a distinct advantage over
components machined from barstock, etc. Raw material usage is less
with forging, and machining time is reduced significantly, especially
when geometry goes beyond simple diameters.
