Our Corporate Engineering Group is
a testament that we are committed to provide full product development
services. We are a one-stop resource for forged and machined parts.
Lofthouse has a customer focussed Engineering
department whose primary purpose is to work closely with new and
existing customers on part development and production implementation.
Our ISO certification assures document and process control to the
end.
When you work with Lofthouse, our Corporate Engineering Team gets
involved at the conceptual stage, and a Project Manager is appointed
to shepherd your project through development and production. Your
product needs to meet certain criteria, so we sit down with your
key people to address those issues, from functional requirements
to advance product quality planning (APQP). Our design engineers
have created a process of "true project management" which
is crucial to the successful development of your part, from concept
to completion.
As we know, parts made from non-ferrous metals have important roles
to play where access to difficult areas, lightweight strength and
non-corrosive properties are essential. Our engineering team can
maximize the value of these properties by carefully examining all
elements of your part as well as its function within your product
and making recommendations to ensure its success. We will work closely
with your designers to address all concerns.
From concept through to delivery, Lofthouse takes into account
every parameter – then examines, alters and redefines it to
meet your requirements. We can also assist in the concept development,
design and engineering, and production scheduling of new product
launches. We don’t just take an idea and run it through the
plant. We take an idea and run it by our people. This gives us access
to a wealth of insight and expertise.
We are constantly upgrading our development and design software.
We use the latest in 3-D modeling tools to design out costs and
design-in advantages. Advanced computer-aided material flow analysis
software leads us to potential problem areas, and provides solutions.
As a result, we can actually predict problems and solve them before
tool design begins. Our simulation and machining software uses the
3-D model to generate CNC tool paths, allowing us to machine the
most intricate dies. And, because we are able to receive a wide
range of customer-supplied files over the internet, we have the
flexibility to make revisions and get approvals quickly.
In addition to computer aided manufacturing abilities, Lofthouse
has complete tool making facilities at both our plants. We design
and manufacture our own forging and trim dies, cutting tools and
machining fixtures in-house.
We are set-up to send and receive electronic file exchanges by
the Internet and can import many different file formats such as
IGES, ACIS, PRT, STL, DXF, and DWG.
We FORGE support and engineering first. ™
